Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By adding the ModSignal bot ("the Bot") to a Discord server or by using the ModSignal website ("the Website"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, remove the Bot and stop using the Website.

2. Description of service

ModSignal is a Discord bot that posts alerts in a configured text channel when members join a configured voice channel, and provides related analytics and management tools. The service is provided free of charge, with an optional Premium tier that unlocks additional features.

3. Account requirements

• You must have a valid Discord account and comply with the Discord Terms of Service.
• You must have the Manage Server permission on any Discord server where you configure the Bot.
• You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required by Discord in your country, whichever is higher.

4. Acceptable use

You may use ModSignal for any legitimate purpose on any Discord server that complies with Discord's rules. You may not:

• Use ModSignal to harass, dox, or target users in violation of Discord's guidelines.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service.
• Circumvent rate limits, abuse the Ko-fi claim-code system, or use multiple accounts to obtain Premium for a server you don't own.
• Resell, rebrand, or redistribute ModSignal without written permission.

We may suspend or permanently remove the Bot from any server that violates these rules, without notice or refund.

5. Premium

• Premium is activated via Ko-fi. Payments and cancellations are handled by Ko-fi, subject to the Ko-fi Terms.
• Monthly Premium renews automatically on Ko-fi until cancelled. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not trigger a refund for the current period.
• Lifetime Premium is a one-time donation granting access for as long as ModSignal operates. It is not transferable between servers.
• We may change Premium pricing with at least 14 days notice on the support server. Existing subscriptions continue at the original rate for the current billing period.
• If Premium features are significantly changed or removed, we'll communicate openly and refund recent lifetime donations on request.

6. Refunds

Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and are not typically refunded for partial periods. Lifetime donations can be refunded within 14 days of the payment if the associated Premium has not been used meaningfully. Contact us via the support server.

7. Availability

We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantees. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, hosting issues, or Discord-side outages. Live status is at modsignal.visual.rocks/status.

8. Data and privacy

Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the service you agree to that policy.

9. Warranty and liability

ModSignal is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the support server at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

You can remove the Bot from your server at any time. We can remove the Bot from any server at our discretion, particularly in cases of abuse or violation of Discord's rules. On removal, we proceed with the data retention policies described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where ModSignal operates. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
